"One, our friends and fan base were amazingly supportive, giving our video almost 1,000 views in just a couple of weeks. “I think we won for two reasons,” Shaw remarked. “We’re not internet celebrities like some of the other winners,” said Heath, "but we are the only band in the contest, so we definitely feel like rock stars right now.” Besides contacting local media, the band has been active on online social networks such as MySpace, Facebook, iLike and Twitter promoting their triumph. The band is dedicated to making the most of their Fiesta agent experience. “But on top of that,” he asked, “who knows what kind of attention we’ll get for our band and label, let alone the whole Kingston music scene?” “The car is awesome, and we finally can get back to touring the country and hanging out with our friends across the nation,” said Heath. “Usually we’re not speechless - as a band we’re pretty loud and crazy - but our jaws are in perma-drop right now,” gushed Shaw, who got the confirmation call while at work on Tuesday, March 31. The duo runs a local record label and merchandising business (Music for End Times) and being chosen as Ford Fiesta agents has given them a big break towards national exposure.
The band entered the contest hoping to use the car to tour in support of their upcoming album, Global Thermonuclear War. In March, Ford Motor Company issued an Internet-wide challenge to submit a three-to-five minute YouTube video explaining why the entrant deserves one of one hundred Ford Fiestas to be awarded.
